MSF Sends Message to Car Drivers

May 17, 2010 - 3:00am

Half of all motorcycle crashes involve a collision with another vehicle and the car driver is most often at fault. Killing or injuring a rider is something that you would have to live with for the rest of your life, and nobody needs that guilt.

A New Kind of Leather Motorcycle Jacket

May 16, 2010 - 3:00am

One of my great finds walking among the vendors at Arizona Bike Week in Scottsdale in April was Lycaon Custom Leathers. The high fashion stylish nature of the leather jackets hanging on the rack catches my eye. These are no ordinary riding jackets. I learn that each jacket is tanned with hydrology tanning technology, which has revolutionized the leather tanning process. This allows the leather to be cleaned by putting it in the washing machine.

Me, bare naked at the Laughlin River Run? No silly! So who was bare naked? The streets of Laughlin were bare naked! Casino Drive in Laughlin, Nevada, during the annual April bike rally used to be an event in itself. Crowds would line the sidewalks in lawn chairs to watch the bad ass machines cruise by. Boys offering Mardi Gras beads for a glimpse of girls gone wild made the sidewalks nearly impassable in recent years.

May 1, 2010 - 3:00am

Snow melting. Sun shining. With mercury rising and an itch to get back on two wheels, it won’t be long before you’re back on the street again. If you’re not lucky enough to live in a year-round riding zone, you and your motorcycle have probably been dormant for months. Father Daughter Bonding Through Motorcycling

May 1, 2010 - 3:00am

"All set?" The sound of my father's voice was muffled against the angry roar of his 750cc V4. It's a question I've heard thousands of times before. I flashed a thumbs-up, my heart picking up speed as his foot pounded against the kickstand and his right hand twisted the throttle. We set off into a whole new world, a journey of the mind and soul as well as on the road itself.

REVIEW: Olympia Moto Sports Airglide

April 18, 2010 - 3:00am

I am riding along the spine of the Middle Atlas mountains when the electrical storm hits. Hail pelts my helmet and bolts of lightening streak horizontally across the snow-dusted road ahead of me. There’s no shelter where I can pull over to bundle up under my gear, but thankfully I’d zipped the waterproof liner in before I’d headed uphill.
